At Robert Walters, we’ve built a strong team-based culture which is underpinned by our profit share bonus scheme. This discretionary bonus model has been designed to encourage a true collaborative approach between our consultants that puts our clients and candidates first.

Developed very differently to the vast majority of recruitment agencies that operate a direct commission model, being rewarded in the form of a profit share scheme means teams are truly aligned and working towards one goal. You can also have comfort in knowing that you have the full support of your peers to help you achieve your personal dreams and goals as your success contributes to their success.

Fundamental principals

  • We reward consultants on a “job well done”
  • This approach encourages teamwork, drives better performance, and aligns our employees around common goals based on best practice
  • Quarterly bonus is discretionary and paid to consultants on both financial and non-financial objectives
  • All consultants should be aware of their target and have documented objectives which are discussed and agreed at the start of every quarter
  • The bonus dynamic ensures all members of the team are goal-aligned, and it is in the best interests of the team to help each other and work together as one

Why it's great for...

Our colleagues

As we operate a team-based profit share it is within all employees’ interests to ensure you are successful as quickly as possible. Robert Walters Group has a client portfolio that many others do not. The development of every employee is important, and our business is built to ensure we can offer you progression within your career that is aligned to your ambitions. Our clients

Our model means clients receive impartial advice from a true business partner as our reward system is based on a more holisitic approach. We don’t get paid to make a “quick sale”.

Our clients benefit from this model. When they instruct a consultant to work on an open vacancy, they are getting multiple recruiters help the consultant source for this position. Our team ethos ensures we are all incentivised to help each other and generate candidates not only for our own jobs, but for all opportunities within our specific candidate skill set specialisation.

Success for us is defined by building out long-term relationships with clients and candidates.

Our candidates

Candidates receive a better service from us as they are introduced to all open vacancies in our business – it doesn’t matter to us which Robert Walters Group consultant places the candidate – we all work together to ensure their candidates are presented with all suitable vacancies in our business.

Many competitors operate a form of candidate ownership which means the consultant who interviews the candidate is the only person able to place the candidate and if anyone else places the candidate then there is a split fee between the placing consultant and the consultant who registered the candidate. This does not encourage sharing and is not in the best interest of the candidate or the client who will be limited by the range of candidates they may receive. It also encourages the consultants to spend their time registering candidates and generating commission from split fees and not doing the full scope of the role which should also be client facing as well.

This principle of sharing defines and shapes our behaviours daily and is a clear differentiating factor in setting us apart from our competitors.
