I'm celebrating each success
I'm Robert Walters

I started with Robert Walters as a consultant in our banking and financial services team over six years ago, and it's been an exciting journey from the beginning. Within my first three years, I had been promoted to manager and had added business support to my remit. From there, I was given the opportunity to start up a new team portfolio for human resources in Adelaide and am now senior manager for HR and business support, managing a team of five consultants.

At Robert Walters, you'll have a lot of opportunities to grow and develop your career — always with the support and guidance of our experienced management team. For me, being charged with starting up a new HR team portfolio was a real vote of confidence from my directors and a sign that they trusted I was ready for the responsibility.

Success looks different for everyone at Robert Walters, depending on how you want to grow your career. For me, I've been lucky enough to celebrate several career milestones and take advantage of a lot of development opportunities:

  • Access to industry-leading professional development and training (management and senior management training hosted interstate)
  • Invitations to management conferences
  • Participating in the Group's Global Explorer Programme, through which I spent a week working at our office in Tokyo, Japan
  • Qualifying for two of our Incentive Weekends for top achievers (first in Thailand and then in Las Vegas!)

The Incentive Weekends are amazing, plus, you can’t beat the opportunity to spend time with colleagues from around the globe. It was fascinating to meet other Robert Walters employees that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to, and the trip gave me the opportunity to network and build my relationships with my peers from our global team.

Teamwork is definitely first and foremost here at Robert Walters — it's central to everything we do. No one gets left behind; everyone chips in to see each other succeed and we all go above and beyond to help each other out. There is a strong sense of pride and trust that comes with the team you belong to and that is consistent across all our Robert Walters offices.

One of the best things about working at Robert Walters is the people. I can honestly say that every one of my colleagues has played a part in my individual success, and I don’t believe I would have had the opportunities I had without my team, and the trust and transparency I've been shown by my managers has been outstanding. I only hope that I show the same level of support to all my colleagues that I have been so grateful to receive over the years.

If you are a true team player and are serious about a long-term career, trust that those around you in the environment at Robert Walters genuinely want to see you succeed and that they will support you in every way they can to get you there. Focus on what you can control which is putting your best foot forward and giving your best effort.
