I’ve always worked in customer-facing roles – first at a bank, then at a resort group. I then moved into recruitment, and realised I’d found the perfect job for me. I love what I do, and I have big dreams. I want to take this career as far as I can go. Learning from the best would help me achieve that.

That’s why I made the switch to Robert Walters. Having studied abroad, I was drawn to the consultancy’s global reach and rich legacy. The team is diverse and skilled at what they do. If I wanted to become a world-class recruiter, this was where I could hone my skill sets.

Although I began my Robert Walters journey in the middle of a pandemic, I never felt alone. A series of progressive trainings had been laid out for us right from the get-go, allowing us to hit the ground running. These sessions covered everything you’d need to succeed as a recruiter – from sector deep dives to building rapport with clients and candidates, and even how to carve out your own personal brand.

Outside of the trainings, everyone on the management team has been really open and accessible, including our Country Manager. It’s been immensely valuable to hear their experience. They have helped me identify specific areas of improvement, and how to better make decisions that will benefit my career in the long run.

11 months on, I’m happy to report that my decision to join Robert Walters has paid off, as I’ve recently been promoted to senior consultant. Beyond this milestone, what’s been most satisfying to see is the change in myself. Today, I know I’ve grown into a more consistent and confident recruiter than the rookie that first stepped into this industry less than two years ago.
