I'm Robert Walters


As an individual holding double master's degrees in Australia and Taiwan, I have been fortunate enough to immerse myself in various cultures and industries throughout my academic journey. This exposure to diverse fields has fostered a deep-seated passion for trying new things and conquering new challenges.

The strategic acumen required in recruitment industry, coupled with the sense of gratification in successful placements, were what drew me towards this field. I also discovered that my proficiency in communication and enjoyment of interpersonal interactions made recruitment a natural fit for me.

After graduation, I decided to pursue a career in HR and recruitment. After having the opportunity to meet with the friendly and professional teams, I decided to join Robert Walters in March 2021.

But as with any new job, and particularly this being my first job, there were challenges to overcome. One of the most significant challenges I faced was acquiring the requisite technology knowledge. The industry moves fast, and it can be hard to keep up.

The support I received from Robert Walters was unparalleled, and I attribute this to our country manager, John Winter. He takes the time to mentor all new joiners and provided me with invaluable encouragement and advice. The weekly meetings during my first month were extremely practical, and I benefited greatly from the various training sessions.

At the same time, my colleagues are a constant pillar of support, and their guidance has helped me surmount many hurdles. I constantly feel like I am part of a team that has a vested interest in my success; this camaraderie and teamwork are what makes my time here so fulfilling and rewarding.

My career at Robert Walters was replete with many highlights, but the most noteworthy one was my ascension from a researcher to a senior consultant within two years. I quickly became a specialist recruiter in the tech industry, and despite having had only been with the business for a year, clients and candidates alike believed I had far more experience than this in the field! This recognition was a testament to the hard work and dedication that I had invested in my role.

In addition, I had the privilege of representing the recruitment industry at the 35th Joint Conference of Australia-Taiwan and ROC-Australia Business Councils, which was held in Sydney. As an ENFP, (“Campaigner” in the MBTI 16 Personalities),  my love for in-depth discussion was satiated by this opportunity to share unique business ideas and innovative solutions that I’ve learned from Robert Walters.

There is nothing quite like the feeling of achieving your goals at a rapid pace, and the sense of accomplishment that comes with it is truly unmatched. To me, an accelerated career growth is not just about achieving success for yourself, it is also about making a meaningful impact on the world around you. As a recruiter, I feel I can make a positive difference in the lives of those around me, and that is truly a fulfilling and rewarding experience.
