Each day, thousands of clients and candidates around the world trust us with their sensitive data. It's a responsibility that we don't take lightly.

That's why we employ several approaches to safeguard the information we hold. Across our business, we have dedicated security teams working around the clock to monitor our systems and detect potential threats, while we also ensure all our employees are vigilant in the way we handle data as part of our day-to-day business operations.

How we protect and secure our data

The Robert Walters Group has a full incident response process in place that both informs and escalates matters to senior management and the Board, as required. A team of internal systems specialists can be called upon to both investigate and remediate issues as they arise within the organisation.

We also maintain various internal controls, including a full vulnerability scanning and remediation process, information security training for all employees and a global Security Operations Centre, which maintains a real-time watch on all security alerting.

Further to the incident response process, when required, a data breach remediation process is engaged. The Group also has a team of employees dedicated to the incident response process and data protection matters, such as responding to GDPR queries, data subject requests and general data protection issues.

We're Cyber Essentials Certified

Backed by the UK Government, Cyber Essentials is a scheme set up to help businesses and organisations ensure they are protected from the most common cyber threats. To achieve certification, the Group has successfully implemented all of the basic controls to reduce the risks posed by common internet-based threats, as set out in the scheme's framework.

Our Cyber Essentials certification also allows us to reassure clients and candidates that we have taken all of the essential precautions to protect their information, in addition to the more advanced security measures we have put in place, as outlined below.

We robustly audit our policies and processes

The Robert Walters Group information security team is subject to an annual audit from our external partners, BDO, as well as regular internal audits.

We maintain up-to-date security intelligence from multiple trusted sources globally, including government and industry peers, to enhance our adherence to an internationally recognised security framework.

How we protect the data we hold

We employ a full conditional access suite across all system users within the Robert Walters Group, which allows our dedicated security operations team to review security issues in real time.

All data transfers within the organisation are conducted across secured encrypted channels, and we maintain an internal vulnerability programme with dedicated teams to ensure that systems security is a priority.

Protecting your data is a team effort

All employees are required to attend information security awareness training, both at the time of their inductions, as well as annually to refresh their knowledge and keep them up to date on the latest guidance. These training sessions are logged, reported and audited internally.

The Robert Walters Group also runs an annual Security Awareness Month to engage with employees, running security workshops, clinics and bespoke training for data processing matters.
