Robert Walters Group raises over £141,900 on Charity Day

Group Charity Day 2019

The Robert Walters Group is proud to have raised £141,989 on its annual Global Charity Day. The money raised will go to charities around the globe, including the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Institut Gustave Roussy, Make-a-wish-foundation, Ark Animal Centre, FEDER, Being ALIVE Japan, Plantar Uma Árvore, Anna’s House, Passerelles numeriques Vietnam and the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity.

Each year, staff from Robert Walters, Walters People and Resource Solutions tap into their talents to come up with new and creative ways to raise as much money as possible for their chosen charities. In 2019, our people dressed up as superheroes, TV stars, dinosaurs, pop stars and in 1920s chic; they baked cakes, washed cars, sang karaoke, planted trees, sold clothes, waxed legs, and some even took a pie to the face. Hundreds of miles were clocked up in exercise and an impressive number of staff demonstrated stomachs of steel in London’s chilli eating challenge.

Taking the time to make a difference

Outside our offices, staff also volunteered their time and skills in aid of their chosen charities. In Belgium, our staff visited local animal shelters to help clean enclosures, walk dogs and offer cats a cuddle. While, in San Francisco, our team created comfort gifts goodie bags for Project Night Night, a charity which aims to provide comfort to homeless children, before visiting the San Francisco Marin Food Bank to provide food boxes for those in need.

Following devastating forest fires in Portugal, our staff chose to support Plantar Uma Árvore, an initiative which strives to restore ecologically degraded areas, by clearing land and planting new trees in Sintra-Cascais National Park. Elsewhere, members of our Malaysia team supported children’s cancer charity, Kumpulan Ibu Bapa dan Sokongan Anak-Anak Kanser by donning their best superhero and movie character costumes to help bring a smile to children undergoing cancer treatment in a local hospital.

Stephen Edwards, Chief Marketing Officer of Robert Walters Group, commented:

“We’re really proud to have the opportunity to provide our time and money to help charities around the world to continue the vital work they do. Thank you to all our staff who continuously demonstrate an incredible level of dedication and imagination to help make a difference.”
